ACVN Call for Specialist Application - MPED Program

In implementing the Municipal Partners for Economic Development Program (MPED) financed by the Canada Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and Association of cities of Vietnam seek 01 National Consultant or 01 Consultant Team (01 team leader and team members) on developing the “Studying of the Economic Impact of MPED’s Model of Land Information Management for City Governments”.

The objective of the assignment is to document and compare the system of Land Administration in place in the cities of Nam Dinh,Pleiku, Thai Binh and TraVinh to provide a complete assessment of the situation to inform national and provincial authorities about the potential and constraints of the systems in place, as well as to help other cities replicate the model.
The second and main objective of the study is to document the existing and potential economic benefits (cost-saving) and impact (support to growth and prosperity) of the demonstration project in Nam Dinh, Pleiku, Thai Binh and Tra Vinh. As such, the study will provide arguments to support the expansion of the demonstration project and the replication of the model in other cities.
The selection will be based on a competitive basis and will comply with DFATD of Canada procurement regulations.

The Association of Cities of Vietnam (ACVN) is a voluntary social organization of Vietnamese cities. The Association was founded in 1992 as an organization of provincial cities by the five cities of Viet Tri, Nam Dinh, Vinh, Hue and Da Nang. On 17th of July 2000, it was then officially named Association of Cities of Vietnam (ACVN) with the decision of the   Prime Minister: No 45/2000/QD-BTCCBCP. Operating both as a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) and as a Social Professional Organization, the Association is the only organization of local governments in Vietnam and with a total number of 96 members (including cities from rank IV to rank special cities and I).

Internal Inception and Management Workshop theProject "Strengthening Local Governance for Local Economic Growth in Vietnamese Cities"

The project will be implemented by ACVN and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS). 111111111111111111EU supports local authoritiesHanoi – A Signing Ceremony for the award of an EU grant of EUR 275,000 was organisedtoday between the Delegation of the European Union and the Association of Cities of VietNam (ACVN) at the Delegation of the European Union to Viet Nam.This is the first time that the EU directly awards a grant to a local government associationand this grant is part of the EU support to local authorities in partner countries. ACVN office had a meeting with Hue city People's Committee

lam vc voi tp. hueOn January 24th 2013, Hue city People's Committee paid a visit to ACVN office headed by Mr. Phan Trong Vinh, Chairman of Hue city and Vice-president of ACVN . At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan, General secretary of ACVN was happy to see significant changes of Hue city in the past few years. Mr. Vinh highly appreciated achievements which ACVN had in the past time to contribute for developments of Vietnamese cities as well as Hue city. He believed that in the coming years, there would be more success of the Association.

The Minister thanked and highly appreciated achievements which ACVN had in the past time to contribute for developments of Vietnamese cities as well as support for MoC. He believed that in the coming years, he would be happy to see more success of the Association
